MS. ZIEGLER: Good afternoon and welcome. This is the press briefing for the Regional Economic Outlook for the Western Hemisphere. I am Julie Ziegler with the Communications Department. And let me start by introducing our panel today. To my left is Rodrigo Valdes, who is the Director of the Western Hemisphere Department, and he is joined by Deputy Directors in the Western Hemisphere Department as well, Ana Corbacho and Nigel Chalk.

IMF staff and the Honduran authorities have reached staff-level agreement on policies and reforms to complete the third review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and Extended Credit Facility (ECF) arrangements. IMF Board approval of the review, expected for June, would result in a disbursement of about US$155 million.

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today completed the first and second reviews of the arrangements for Honduras under the Extended Fund Facility and Extended Credit Facility. The completion of the reviews enables the authorities to immediately draw about US$198 million (SDR 150 million), bringing total disbursements under the program so far to about US$315 million (SDR 239 million). Honduras’ 36-month arrangements totaling about US$823 million (SDR 624.5 million) were approved on September 21, 2023.
